The G:link tram runs the length of the coastal strip and is fully accessible, which makes independent travel realistic for participants living near a stop. Away from the tram line, at Nerang or Upper Coomera, community access usually means a support worker driving rather than travel training.

Can community access help me learn to use the Gold Coast tram?

Yes. The G:link is accessible and runs from Helensvale down to Broadbeach, so for participants near the line it is one of the better independence goals available. We ride it with you until it is routine, then reduce support.

Can a support worker take me to the beach or the parks?

Yes. Recreation and social participation are what Community Participation funding is for. Several Gold Coast beaches have accessible matting and beach wheelchairs available, and we can look into what is on offer near you before planning the outing.
