Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

Mental health conditions can be as disabling as physical ones, and the NDIS recognises this. Participants with a psychosocial disability (a disability arising from a mental health condition) can access NDIS supports to help them live independently, build resilience and participate in the community. First Priority Care provides consistent, compassionate mental health and psychosocial support across Queensland.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support - NDIS service provided by First Priority Care Queensland

How we deliver it

Mental health support works best when it is relationship-based, recovery-focused and consistent. We match participants with support workers who understand mental health and are trained in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice. We don't rotate new faces through. We build relationships and maintain them.

We work alongside your existing mental health team, not in competition with it. Your psychiatrist, psychologist and case manager remain central to your care. We are the day-to-day support that helps you maintain the life you're building.

NDIS funding

Psychosocial support is funded under Core Supports: Assistance with Daily Life or Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation, depending on the nature of supports. Support Coordination (including Specialist Support Coordination for complex presentations) is also often included in plans for participants with psychosocial disability.
