Our AHPRA-registered nurses deliver clinical care right in your home, so you get the nursing support you need without the disruption of hospital visits or outpatient appointments.

Quick answer

Can I get NDIS nursing care at home in Brisbane?

Yes. First Priority Care sends AHPRA registered nurses to participants' homes across greater Brisbane. Brisbane has four major public hospitals, so most referrals reach us at discharge from the Royal Brisbane and Women's, the Princess Alexandra, QEII or The Prince Charles. Clinical care continues at home instead of in an outpatient clinic.

Delivering Nursing Services in Brisbane

Brisbane's four tertiary hospitals each discharge into a different part of the city, so a wound review that starts at the PA in Woolloongabba and one that starts at The Prince Charles in Chermside are 25km apart. We roster north and south of the river separately for that reason.

Frequently Asked Questions | Nursing Services Brisbane

Which Brisbane hospitals do your nursing referrals usually come from?
Most come from the Royal Brisbane and Women's at Herston, the Princess Alexandra at Woolloongabba, QEII at Coopers Plains and The Prince Charles at Chermside. We can pick up care at discharge from any of them, and we work from the discharge summary so nothing has to be reassessed from scratch.
Do you charge travel for nursing visits across greater Brisbane?
Provider travel is claimed under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and is discussed openly before your service agreement is signed. Because Brisbane is our largest catchment, most participants are close to a nurse already working in their part of the city, which keeps travel modest.
