Is there SIL housing in the Sunshine Coast hinterland?

We concentrate SIL on the coastal strip. Hinterland drive times make round the clock staffing unreliable, and a SIL house that cannot guarantee a shift change is not a safe SIL house. In-home support in the hinterland is a different matter and we do provide that.

Can Sunshine Coast SIL include nursing support?

Yes. Registered nurses hold the clinical part of the care plan and oversee the support workers delivering it. Being close to Sunshine Coast University Hospital at Birtinya shortens the pathway when a participant needs specialist review, which was not the case here before that hospital opened.
