Mealtime Management Plans
Participants with enteral feeding needs often also have oral mealtime complexity, for example some degree of oral intake alongside tube feeding, or aspiration risk during oral meals. Our nurses work alongside speech pathologists and dietitians to implement mealtime management plans that address both tube and oral feeding safely.
What Our Enteral Feeding Service Includes
- PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube management: site care, feed administration and tube integrity checks
- PEJ (Percutaneous Endoscopic Jejunostomy) management
- Nasogastric (NG) tube management: insertion, position checks, feeding and removal
- Bolus, gravity and pump-assisted feed administration

NDIS Funding
PEG and enteral feeding management is funded under Core Supports: Assistance with Daily Life (High Intensity) or Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. Enteral feeding consumables (formulae, giving sets, pump hire) may also be fundable through NDIS or as Disability-Related Health Supports.
